A BRIDGE OF HOPE

1. A Bridge Of Hope

a) Look at Exodus 8.22. Here’s something new in the course of the plagues in Egypt, or at least it’s mentioned for the first time.

Exodus 8:22
But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where My people are living, so that no swarms of flies will be there, in order that you may know that I, the LORD, am in the midst of the land.

b) And again we find in:

Exodus 9:4
But the LORD will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt, so that nothing will die of all that belongs to the sons of Israel.

c) There’s a divine distinction. Egypt faces a nationwide humiliation: their livestock falling. That’s their very profitability. It’s their food. It’s their engine of economic progress. It’s their status symbol.

d) This is like everyone’s car dying and every automotive vehicle going broken and useless; no longer working, while meanwhile, everything seems fine!

e) God makes a divine distinction. This is one of the most unpopular parts of the Bible today. Not these verses in particular, but this idea that God will not, in the end, treat everyone the same. He will treat everyone fairly, but not the same.

f) Know this that there is a divine distinction between the people of God and others.

g) Nowadays we are living in trying times. With persevering pestilence at hand,  everything seems to fall apart. Depression and fears set in. Many are seeking for answers but in the case of Covid 19, vaccination remedies. A breakthrough people can hope for. Yet there is some uncertainty in the minds of others.

h) Christ in us is our hope of glory. The return of Jesus Christ is our blessed hope and this hope purifies us.

Colossians 1:27
to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Titus 2:13-14
looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.

i) Know this that Jesus is coming for those who eagerly waiting for Him!

Hebrews 9:28
so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

j) Even while eagerly waiting for Christ's return, there's divine protection and sheltering from this persevering pestilence for God makes a divine distinction, a bridge of hope!
